i’m going back to school and you know what that means
hesitantiero:
• having to deal with crippling anxiety and/or depression and still having to act like everything’s fine
• doing homework for four and a half hours
• endless stress over tests
• the choking scent of cologne and perfume that people apply by the bucket load
• little to no time to relax, a key element in good mental health
• panic! attacks
• sexist double standards
• crying and sobbing fits
• a strong hatred of education, which is a privilege that people and other countries don’t get, and something that should be enjoyable, but now has been ruined by the high standards of society
• cliques and not fitting in because you look or act different, or you like something that most people don’t
• getting up early
• getting marked down in p.e. because you’re not athletic
• “i don’t know, can you?”
• essays
• the looming threat of responsibility and the “real world”
• being treated like you’re ignorant and don’t know what’s going on in the world simply because you’re younger
• being forced to change or sent home because your clothing is “distracting” but guys walk around with shirts advertising alcohol, or Hooters, or have sexist sayings or naked women on them
• multiple choice exams with two right answers but one is “more right”
• probably lots more than this
• add more if you wish
